Default 1979 scout 2 build

well all here is the beauty i just purchased she looks nice has very little rust and runs like a top... only issues are nothing is wired under the dash..i can fix that fairly easily.. but while i was going through the old wiring harness that came with it i found this clock. now i have never seen one before and was wondering how rare this is..

here are some specs on her
79 scout 2
late 90's rebuilt fuel injected chevy 350
4 speed trans
dana 20
dana 44 front and rear

more updates to come when the parts arrive

Not sure how common the clock is but I dig em! Neither of my trucks have them but my buddy's 76 does. That's a good looking rig you got there, good luck!

good looking on the outside but the further i dig the bigger the issues get lol
but such as life on a scout
next step is to pull the dash away from the bulkhead and connect everything that isn't hooked up... which is EVERYTHING... wish me luck

Sweet! I almost bought that scout, handed the guy the cash and all but the vin on the title didnt match the vin on the scout because of the body swap. Im guessing he got it all figured out. It sure does run nice! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it

he told me that someone came to look at it didnt like the vin issue. its all figured out now.
yes it does run great now i have to get rid of the locker, my uses arent hard core wheeling just the occasional run to tahuya and alot of daily driving, no need for a locker. i am also considering lowering it a little it sits a little tall in my opinion but we will see once i get the wiring fixed

A little tall? Looks like it could use some bigger tires so it doesn't look like a roller skate.
Or are there other issues.......?

Yes it could use some bigger tires lol it does kinda look like a roller skate but i am going to fix that issue.. on a good note i am taking baby steps i got some more hooked up under the dash before i took the dash out for some metal work and a fresh coat of paint. On another note does anyone need a complete set of guages they alll look great pm me if your interested.

Update on the build progress i got alot working in the cab still cant find the wires to hook up the heater motor o well i am just going to run my own.. took the dash out and brought it to olympia powdercoating for sand blasting. They do great work.
I then decided to look into the rear axle.... Huge mess.. good thing i didnt drive it very far looks like someone put chocolate pudding in there instead of gear oil.. the axle bearings are completely gone and so are the brakes... glad i am going through her from bumper to bumper..
