Default SD33T Towing?

I know very little about the turbo diesel scout 2's but was just wondering how are they for towing? It seems like I could find a decent scout 2 somewhere and fly out, rent a dolly and tow another scout home.
Thoughts?

The SD33T will not be capable of towing a 4500 lb Scout and a tow dolly. I used one for 4 years as a daily driver and a 14 foot Jon boat with trailer was about the maximum I would ever tow with it. I do know a man who did tow a small pop up camper with it, but I would imagine that was slightly over the limit.

If you asking asking if you can tow a Sd 33-T You can tow it but to tow with it would probably toast the engine pretty quick. They are not powerful enough with out keeping you foot in it and running the boost up and bad things can happen when you get that engine too hot.

Just my opinion

Good to know.
It's a shame with having such great gas mileage that it couldn't be used in that way.

On the other hand....Diesel swaps are easier!

Towing and the Nissan Diesel do NOT mix! Without a LOT of upgrades!

Are you only interested in Diesel Scouts ? YOu could buy a V8 scout and tow a diesel scout home.
