Even a clear sealer over rust will not stop the rust process.

Three day Build; Kinda cool to see all that talent under one roof! When you or Gary hit the lotto and finish your current projects, maybe you'll become the IH versions of Chip Foose and travel the country, helping the more mechanically challenged binder nuts get their rides on the road/trail.
You can start with Conroe, Texas!

Rent-a-Gary, now that's funny!

Robert has a really nice shop setup. I'm used to working outside on the ground in the dirt on a slope and has snow for 5 months out of the year. This working in a heated, level shop with a concrete floor and good lighting is spoiling me pretty good.

Anyway, we got a little bit done yesterday. I began the morning with some quality time with a steam cleaner and cleaned 50 years of grime off the frame & drivetrain. Then, I yanked the old 152 off the frame, prepped the new motor to go in, pulled the exhaust, started installing all the new brakes, ran into a few snags there. We wrapped up the day with painting the frame and it came out looking great!

We should be making some pretty good headway today!

-Gary

Here is a box full of brake parts, Car Quest is batting 50, 50 correct shoes for the rear. correct wheel cylinders for the front. We will need some face to face time with the counter clown and the old parts in hand so he can hold them side by side and insure he has the right part. Plan is new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes, and brake hardware. I also have a rebuilt 152, new clutch, flywheel, bearings and the rest so that will handle the go and stop for the Scout. Kit will have the seat ready on Friday, so I am looking forward to my new shop/parts runner

Gary should know that 152 is not numbers matching to the chassis - it has a spin-on oil filter on it!

I like the show-and-tell diff covers, too. Way better than a boring old sight gauge to check the fluid level..
