Then, it's time for the quarter panels to go back on with the new endcaps attached.

Lower qp's were rotted and jagged... not for long though!

Note the door-to-body gap. Not too bad!

And, the "almost to the end" result. Obviously there's a bit more body work to do, sanding filler, primer, paint, etc, but you get the idea.

I didn't take as many pictures along the way as I should've.

What started off as a rotted out truck has now become a good solid truck that's straight as an arrow and that will last a long time.

Hey so this is my first post on the binder, I am the owner of this fine specimen. All thanks go out to Gary, if I hadn't of ever met him up at Coonrods a month ago I wouldn't have had a solid Scout for years. Gary's talent is incredible. I started the build off wanting some items patched and the gas tanks fixed from the bonehead (aka douchebag) previous owner who was a man with pure rage. Which I will address later showing a picture of said rage. But after we started talking and I saw the craftsmanship that Gary was capable of I wanted everything that was rotted replaced, might as well do it right once. I cant thank Gary enough for the amount of metal work he has done this past month and putting up with all my requests. Truly an amazing person. From the small items that were addressed to the large, everything was done in a straight professional manner. Cheers buddy. Thanks for everything again and again, this build wouldn't look the way it does without Gary and my wallet. lol! During the last month I have spent many hours over there taking pictures, lending a helping hand and just shootin the sh!t. Unfortunately sometimes I am sure I have distracted him with all my ramble but he was a great sport about it. Well I have tons of detailed pictures that I will share in this build. This build isn't finished yet but its at a road worthy point and I wanna enjoy it while Gary is off at Nationals. Then come October I'll end up painting the entire thing with Durabak inside and out. Then address the seals on the engine and hopefully save up for some 31's. Not going too crazy yet... Gary knows I wanna do a SOA eventually but right now it can wait. So onto more pictures and a few will be duplicates of what Gary has already shared. BTW I already have been thinking of my next IH project. Lets just say I like panel trucks, and late things that came out of the late 40's. Just have to find the right one... Hopefully Phil can help me track something down. Couldn't do this build without the help of Gary and Phil Coonrod, both a great individuals who I enjoy spending time with.

The day I bought it, overpaid and coughed up $900 for it. Well worth it in my opinion.

196, leaky pig

previous douche bag put in this carpet which was a royal pain to remove all the adhesive before spraying the entire thing with miracle paint

previous owner really enjoyed sea foam green

rear tailgate which later gets swapped out with a 1961 80 version.

After a month with it I sent the Scout down to get some loving in Denver with a fella named Jim at Cash Automotive, Phil Coonrod suggested him. Well Jim had it for a month and we were planning on addressing the fuel tank issues (not being plumbed and would only hold a gallon and a half of fuel on only the drivers side). He managed to get the access panels removed and pulled the passenger tank and I got a call saying the outer walls need to be replaced and he couldn't handle the job of doing so. Thats when Gary comes in, that afternoon I had it towed to Garys place all thanks to AAA. Thats when this build started a few days before the RMIHR.

Get to Garys the first day he started on it and he had most of the thing torn down to the inner shell in less than an hour.

enjoying some Morning Wood Wheat. LOL

not too shabby Mr Gary

after Gary removed the pop riveted 22 gauge... rotten

inner kick panels rotted through

rotted floors

the previous owner must of ran out of patience, paint or money... guessing all three. The roof rack was removed on request and all the holes were welded up and ground down.

drivers inner kick panel cut out and ready for new

the drivers side fuel tank floor and inner wall, outer wall rotted completely. Rear bed sides rotted as well

Outer rocker and end caps removed and going to be replaced with end caps I removed from a tub up at Coonrod's.

rotted and will be patched

passenger side getting all fitted

door sill corners will eventually get replaced with ones I got from the tub at Coonrods
