Default HCB October 8th Camping & Trail Ride

CANCELLED

1st Annual Ziggybock HCB Camping and Trail Ride

Well guys and girls, it has been talked about so here it is. Brought to you by Halfwit Productions and your local HCB.

This all happens on the 8th and 9th of October 2011 on the edge of the beautiful Llano River. HCB has been granted access onto a private ranch for this function with no cost to club members. There will be primative camping on the edge of the river for Sat. Night "No Driving in the River" sorry. Any club member willing to help set up for this event would be welcomed with open arms by Ziggybock himself.

List of Activities:
Fishing
Swimming
Camping
Sat. Night Cook out
Trail ride. " Nothing Major just a nice drive around. Maybe a couple of things to climb"
Drive to Sunrise Beach "Has a park for swimming in Lake LBJ"

We will need a head count 15 days in advance so we can prepare. Only the land is provided and the place to camp. It is a primative camp site. No water no electricity.

Once again, volenteers to help set up before the event would be welcomed. We will start preparing for this event in Sept. Preperations include getting the camp site ready and picking trails to go on.

Note: This is the first off road club function ever held on this ranch. This is a working cattle ranch not an off-road park so there are not pre-determined off road trails.

Hey bob, that would be great if you could come down for it. That is what we talked about last time we were all together.

Howdy everyone,

At lunch today we lined out some extra detail for the Oct 8th trip. Here are some of the notes, Tres please add anything that you feel I might have left out.

Work Weekends.
There will need to be some prep work to clear out and make some paths for the new camping areas next to the river. This will be one day type work days that we can all meet at one location off of 281 and drive to the property. We can meet south of Marble Falls for SA and Austin members can get together from there.
Light brush work type of equipment will be needed if you have it (pruners, loppers, pole saw, rake, etc). The days are as follows:

-September 10
-October 1

Tres or I can provide more detail of times to meet and so forth as we get nearer to the date. Also, if you are interested in camping that night after the work day that will be available as well. Just post up or contact Tres if you are interested.

Additional General Info
Some general info we discussed today as well. Everyone should be responsible for their own gear. Please bring your own camping gear, chairs, lanterns and general camping items that you would like to use.
We also discussed that everyone should take care of their own food except for Saturday night, we will do a group meal of hamburgers and hotdogs with all of the typical sides. With burn bans in affect we are just trying to keep things simple and easy for everyone.

This is intended to be a family friendly enviroment and we are lucky to have access to this private property, thanks again Tres. This will be a relaxed weekend with some true Hill Country driving around Lake LBJ and on the property. Fishing in the river will be available as well as some great socializing, probably under some shade. Tres will also review all the rules of the property just to make sure everyone is clear of the do's and don't's and to make sure everyone is safe.

So load up the family, grab your camping gear and ice cold drinks and head towards Llano. Stay one night or two but only show-up if you intend to have a good time.

Also, if you happen to see Captain Oinker don't be alarmed. It is just Tres getting his freak on!

I just dont know what to say here. It looks like Ziggybock covered everything and way way more than i would have ever expected.

As Ziggybock explained, the work weekends aslo can double as a mini camping trip if need be. I plan on being there most of the weekend working. Please let me know if this is something anyone is interested in.

What happened to the Bo Peep picture? Why did you edit it out? I guess I will add it back in so the content of this thread stays intact.

May we continue with our normal broadcasting......

Wow Chris...I know you keep telling me you and Tres are not related, but looking at that pic, the resemblance is undeniable!
