Default 64 Travelette

Picked up a 64 travelette last week all original including the paint started out as a farm truck, spent the last ten years doing parades and family gatherings by the PO, and now it is coming back to life as a DD and tow rig, since I am away from home at the moment I have a local diesel shop dropping in a dana 80 rear out of a 1989 1 ton ford and dana 60 front out of a 1979 1 ton ford beside stronger axles it gets me power disc/drum brakes and easier to find parts, may get a repower with a cummins and five speed. Mild body work and paint, and updated interior. the project begins , pictures to follow shortly

Well its been right at a month since I brought it home. Had a shop putting the new axles in her but had to fire them for not doing the work they got as far as putting the rear axle under and taking the front axle out in just over three weeks after setting an unrealistic timeline for themselves and pushing the completion date back six times and then complaining because they thought it was unrealistic of me to want them to finish the project when they said it would be done. In the last week and a half that I have had her back I have installed the front axle, a new clutch master cylinder, brake booster and master cylinder, new brake lines, fixed the hood latch, installed new shocks, new draglink will be done at the machine shop in the morning, and had the new driveshaft built . I guess time management wasn't there strong point! pics to follow

after a small delay due to new brake components that where missing pieces and work getting in the way I finally have my truck with me again after a couple of months and looking forward to using it as a DD while I decide if I am going to put in a diesel or EFI the original motor, with that in mind does anybody know how an ih d301 turbo diesel would compare to a cummins 5.9, other than the obvious cool factor of staying all IH

truck hasn't made it to a dd but at least a weekend driver and doing some work about 3 tons of dirt , told the guy running the loader to fill it up because it had the heart of a dump truck
