find an auto trans shop in your area. and have them rebuild your torque converter.
dumb thing to do- reuse existing tc.
draining it wont get all the dirt out, nor will it rebuild the sprag clutch or vanes , or bearings inside of it . .

its best to rebuild a trans for severe/extreme duty.
and put in a good shift kit- like trans-go kits.
youll want to adjust clearances to minimum on clutch paks, with different thickness snap rings, another reason to find a local trans shop........
youll want to bolt in the rear one way roller sprague bearing.

So far.. I got the parts from PATC for the rear servo upgrade. Very quick service. I orderd on Friday eve and it was at my door Monday Morning.. Very fast.. I did end up ordering the Torque converter from the place on west coast. Local wanted around 190.00 plus tax. This one was 184.00 delivered (core charge included). They sayed it was HD for a IH. As far as the core goes.. If they dont pay shipping, im just going to see if I can sell it locally. The shipping cost was 45.00 and they charge the same for a core charge. So to me its not worth the hassle to send the core back if im not geting any money for it. I bought a Harmontic balancer from the same area, and they wanted me to pay shipping to send core back... Guess what.. It still in box in my garauge. I still have to order the rebuild kit from napa. Do that this week. Hopfully Ill have it reassembled by this weekend, but will be another week before its back in truck, unless i get the TC by friday.. Which i doubt.
Why do all the places that have parts listed for IH always have to be on the west coast? Remember, Im in Ga. which is a 7-10 day delivery time, cost since im 3000 miles away. At least PATC was in LA. (gulf coast, not Ca). But they dont list "IH" in there parts catilogs. So its a gamble.

Last time I looked up a converter from autozone it was only $100. And they have a warranty.

I still think a kit from napa is going to be more then ebay.

According to the rock auto website (autozone) They didnt have one listed for any IH. Including Napa. i didnt want to take a chance matching one up from a chrysler. Im sure there cheaper, but I know one i just orderd will fit. I dont trust e bay for parts. have to "bid" and "wait" till bidding is over till i get it. I can get it fron napa quicker. Im not that desperate in the cost. Considering the upgraded HD servo kit and strut rod cost over 80 dollars. To late now, i guess.. Oh well..
