Thanks Sully. I didnt get a darn thing done on the scout today. I spent the whole day furniture shopping. I ended up buying all new living room furniture. There goes a good chunk of the Scout money.

Ok, so here is a little progress. I spent the last two days prepping. Last night I finished replacing all of the bad spots on the tailgate and getting the mounting of the scout 800 tailgate to work with my scout 80. I cut out a bunch of rust and welded in all new metal.

Tonight I prepped more for the liner and sprayed the self etching primer on the inside of the tub as well as 1 fender.

Tomorrow I need to do a little more priming and a little color on the higher part of the firewall where there will not be any bed liner. Then I have to wait until I paint the tailgate to shoot all of the liner on.

I also went to the chrome shop today to get some stuff chromed but the cost was too much for my pocket book, The crazy dude wanted 450.00 to do a few small pieces so I left with my stuff and I guess I will now be painting them instead of chroming them.

Here are the pictures.

A little of the bed in this one.

More progress tonight. I am kinda pissed about the results so far. It is supposed to be silver and it does not appear to be so. I also didnt do a very good job at my first time spraying the liner. I may need to do it again. The color is a goldish color and not the silver it should have been. I have only sprayed half of the scout so far and I am going to wait the suggested 24 hours to see if the color shifts to silver but I do not think it will. If it doesn't then I will re-spray the whole thing.

The pictures speak for themselves.

Drivers side floor board.

Passenger side floor board.

Here you can see the difference between the silver on the firewall and the gold looking bed liner I sprayed tonight.

I know Davis would love to have this gold in his scout.

I thought you might get a kick out of that. Now I am going to have to change the color of my truck to gold.

It just makes his day to see a scout in gold. There is something wrong with Davis. I think he needs more gold on his. I bet he called Al's liner and had them spike my order with gold.

I just read that if you are going to custom tint a lighter color you need to ad more than the 4 oz. they recommend and go with 12 to 16 oz. of tint. The instructions that come with it are wrong. I got the 12 to 16 oz from the Al's liner site. Its no where on the printed instruction that come in the kit.

No wonder my stuff is the wrong color. Nothing like making a 100.00 mistake. Now the liner is going to be super thick in the front of the truck.

Don't fret buddy, you could paint the balance in a nice earth tone green and have the first "Eddie Bauer" series Scout 80!! Just a thought!!
But seriously, still looks great.
What type gun did you use on that bedliner?
