Default Re: Mexican based 1966ish Scout knockoff?

I'd venture the opinion that the most famous expat from north of the border would be Big Daddy Roth's Orbitron, lost in the late '60's and found in Mexico being used as a trash can in front of an adult book store. No kidding.

As for that Scout knockoff, that's...close, but no cigar. Sort of like what a Scout might look like if you described it to someone over the phone. (That is to say, it's got the basics down, but none of the subtle details right).

My friends from Jalisco, Sonora, Baja California Sur y Norte, paint a very different picture than the "fear sells" oriented mass media of these United States.

Too bad what's been going on here for at least the last century plus.

Google: the "yellow press," and, remember the Maine.

Just sayin'...

Stumbled across this, we must admit we have never heard of this one!

There are several links with pictures on SSS's facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Super...c/321543928746 that show a couple these for sale somewhat recently, $75,000 on one of them, must be Pesos and not Dollars.

It looks enough alike to be an International patent infringement.

The 800A-dobe model. Great truck. Loses form in the rain though..

The Ramirez Scout was apparently a Mexican version of the U.S. made. You can read more about on www.mexicotrucker.com (Mexican Trucking History).

I like it. Squared edges and all, it's got something to it. Good find.
