Default C series T'ette cab/ bed on a D series T'all chassis?

Hey all, as the title describes, looking to find info on whether or not a 68 C series Travelette cab/ bed will bolt onto a 69 D series frame or what mods it will require aside from the hole in the tunnel for the xfer case lever into the cab.

Specs on the 68 C series T'ette:
1200 2x4
4 door crew cab
short box bed
6 lug

69 D series T'all:
1210 4x4
8 lug

Basically, like to take the 2x4 C series T'ette body and drop it right onto the D series T'all chassis to make it 4x4 w/ the updated lug pattern. Any differences in where the bodies mount to the frame? I know the frames should be identical for the most part right?

Thanks as always!

OK, so in searching another forum it would appear they're different body mounts between C & D series. Next question would be, I guess, if ANY of the body mounts line up between the two? Wondering if it'd just be easier to bolt the D series running gear up to the C series frame? They're both 3/4 ton just that the 68 is 2wd which I don't think matters as all the 4x4 mounting holes should be in the 2wd frame to mount the spring shackles and such yes?

The travelall wheelbase is a lot shorter than the travelette wheelbase. You'll need to plan on stretching the frame. Whoever can do that should be able to reposition body mounts without difficulty.

I thought they were the same at 119"?

A T-ette is a good 2 foot longer than a t-all. For what you propose I would swap running gear, all bolt in. You will need a new rear driveshaft but the other stuff should all be in the parts pile.

The axles and springs and all that will swap. If all you want is an axle swap, just do it. I put 73 1210 axles on a 66 travelall once. Far easier than I expected. I wanted 73 for the open knuckles and drum brakes so I wouldn't have to modify the brake system right away. Brakes worked perfectly.

The frames are the same from 63-73. The t-case bracket will bolt up. You can convert either of these vehicles back and forth using drivetrain parts. The rear driveshaft will be wrong no matter what you do. Oh, well. Easily fixed.

I have a number fixed in my head of 155" for the short bed travelette, but I have no idea if it is right. The C/D frame pickups are 119" and 131" from 63 - 73, so that would make the t-ette 2 feet longer, 3 feet longer than the travelall. Whatever the correct t-ette wb is, it's close to that, and you get the idea.

On the other hand, you could put the t-ette body on the short frame. You would end up with a 3 foot bed or no bed at all. Might be pretty cool.

Thanks guys, great info. I had no idea they were longer let alone that much. Still an easy enough swap. I'll just plan to put the 69 1210 running gear under the T'ette as I'll want that bed for sure. I'll just get one of the driveshafts fitted to go in the rear once everything is bolted up.

Edit: come to think of it, a bobbed pickup bed would look pretty cool on the back of that rig to fit the D series T'all frame. Hmmmm... Oh well, I got plenty of time to change my mind several times over before it's finished. LOL!
