Default tilt steering schematic?

Anybody out there got a tilt steering schematic? I just go a new/old one from IH only north and it was mostly complete, but was missing the wheel lock plate and the plastic was a little rough. I took it down, cleaned up the bearings and repacked with grease, fixed the plastic and recolored with duplicolor.

Now I can't get the sucker back together. I didn't do a detailed lay out when taking it down, but it's not that complicated. I can't get the locking plate down far enough and long enough to put the locking ring back in the grove.

Help??? I was wondering also, since it doesn't have the locking pin to lock the steering wheel when you turn the key off if the tilt wheel doesn't use the locking plate like my old column does.

Thanks

---There is no Locking Plate on a tilt-matic. All you have is the Turn Signal Canceling Cam/Horn Contact Ring held down by the External Snap Ring. You do not even look at the "TSCC/HCR" while holding a Lock Plate Remover in you hand or it will shatter. You also will have to size the old one up to a... IIRC 1982 Malibu Classic's and see if they match. I believe, though that was ages ago, that's where I got mine from... might not be though as I disassembled and assembled at least 6 steering wheels that day, looking for a match.

---I would have suggested the manuals before even suggesting you attempt a rebuild of anything having to do with safety, but you already know that... yer not new. If you find they don't have the diagram in the manuals, or in your manual(s), look up the unit repair section in a Chitlins ("Misprint Bible"). That's about all they're good for is diagrams. Never follow their text.

Thanks, that explains why I was having a hard time getting it back together!
