Yes i have a cable. I bought it it is a serial to usb and my computer seems to be recognizing it fine, and i have logged data on several occasions. I just cannot find the logs on my hard drive. I have the blm table just not the complete log as shown in previous posts. The reason I settled on the high idle was to get the scout driving and log some data where i might find the solution to my idle issue. Trust me i spent a great deal of time attemping to solve this idle issue during ISP. I downloaded tunerpro last night, and I will try to log some more today and see if i can find those.

Use TunerPro for logging.
You'll need a couple files, and ASD and ADX. Together you'll read data out of it by hitting the log button. This will let you/us read exactly what is going on.

If your idle isn't set right in the ISP, it definitely won't be set right after.
I am not following your direction.

He already has BLM data so he obviously has a cable.
Why does he need tunerpro if he is already logging with winaldl?
It works fine and provides all the data he needs.

Did you verify the IAC operation during your ISP? if so then was there any vacuum being sucked in thru the port above the IAC during the ISP? This is discussed in the ISP FAQ.

If you logged data by hitting the start button and then hitting the stop button when done, then a little window should pop up telling you the file name.

Did you follow the other thread and install the winaldl directly to the c: drive?
You have a blm file. Where did you find it?

You can open winaldl and click the data logger start and stop buttons and click the BLM save table button even if not connected to the ECM and should get a file saved window pop up for the BLM but not for the data logger.

I am on a brand new win7 laptop and just iinstalled winaldl to the C:/winaldl directory as described in the other thread and hit the buttons. Both files were in the directory.

Make sure your data logger is set up properly with all boxes checked except the raw box!!

Subscribed! (just to see where this leads )...

I saw you've gone thru the "propane trick", but did you drill the torch orifice (for more flow)? What about removing the belts to keep the fan from blowing the 'pane away?

My WAG is that either: 1) the throttle shaft/bores are worn (out), or 2) your adapter/gasket doesn't fully cover cavity near the IAC... creating a vac leak

I have not ruled out the throttle shaft.. I installed a new adapter/gasket, but that doesn't mean its a good seal. I have not drill out my torch orfice. I will have to try that. I replaced my egr gasket, but maybe the valve its self is leaking?

I think I finally found my data:

Your sensor data from your log file shows you idling at 675-700 RPM quite a bit.

Are you basing your RPM off the WinALDL or off a remote tach?

Looks to me like you are running pretty lean too.

After i adjusted my reluctor i got the idle down to around 700. I still feel like its high at 700, and iac is still 0. My tach and winaldl match

According to your log, your IAC count is 22 at 675 RPM.

And until you change your minimum idle parameters, (assuming you set it at 675 at running temp) the ECM will fight to keep it at 675.

Can you explain exactly what you adjusted?

The reluctor is in the distr. It has the little fins on it.

Looking at your log it looks like you are running a ANLX chip from an 89 5.7.

You don't have a VSS and are setting an error code.
You are also continuously counting knock so I'm assuming you don't have a knock sensor or it's not connected or you have a very noisy engine and it is creating false knock.

You should back the min idle screw out about 1 turn and see if the IAC counts go up at idle and the idle speed comes down.

After i made this post i went back through and checked timing and reluctor phasing and found the reluctor to be just past the pick up. I lined them up per the FAQ ansd it ran a little better.

I dont have a VSS. I do have a knock sensor, and i will check the connection.

I will try the idle screw

Thanks
