The torsion bars run aft-to-forward along the frame rails, one per side and attach to the upper A-arms at the top of the frame. Engine swaps have been accomplished to the Travelalls, and the small block chevy will fit easily. Probably best if going with the SBC is to use one of their auto trans with overdrive. Disc brakes are also available, been discussed many times. You could search the forum for these two items and find hours of reading. I have had several Travelalls as daily drivers over the years, and other than the relative poor fuel mileage, I love them and have no complaints.

What have you experienced in MPG over the years using your two travelalls?
The Seller states that when he was using it as a DD 3 years ago he was getting 12-16 on the highway depending upon his driving habits. This one has the 345 engine. |
