Default Re: Ultimate ( Rhino ) spray in Bed lining of a Scout 2

Used Herculiner in the Jeep this past weekend. Even cured it's still pretty soft but it's also fairly thick. I used the entire gallon on it. Two reasons I used this is it was less than 50 bucks and it's in a Jeep that won't/can't carry much cargo or a load so scraping it up or having it peel from throwing junk in it isn't really an issue for me.

I have not seen that one yet. I will have to google it and see what the reviews are generally trending towards out of curiosity.

With the Ultimate lining system I use between 4 and 5 Gallons of material when doing the inside of the Scout 2 models to get to 1/4" on the bottom, and 1/8"-3/16" on the sides. The thicker the coating, the better the sound and heat insulation is as well as the durability from "Sun Burn through". What tends to happen with the thin coatings is after 5 or so years of sun and weather exposure the lining gets a chalky appearance and starts to flake off. In the industry we call that Sun Burn through. The hotter the part of the country or exposure, the worse it will be. If your rig is covered with a top all the time it is not so bad, but the direct sunlight kills it faster than anything.

One thing I am going to try is some reflective heat barrier materials on the tunnel cover sides/firewall and then line over that.
