So I got to the scout late last night. Went to try and get something accomplished on it, but there always seems to be something unexpected. The scout wouldn't fire up to pull it in the garage because the electric fuel pump the p.o. installed wasn't working. I checked all the lines and filters to make sure nothing was plugged up. Everything was clear. The carb was getting zero gas to it. I was unsure if the mechanical pump worked. It wasn't hooked up and it wasn't the original motor so ??? I didn't have enough gas line anyways. My brother had an extra electric pump off of one of his old novas he gave me. It was hard to mount with the regulator so we threw a clip on the slot on the battery tray and put a bolt in it. It's nice not to put extra holes in it when your tying to patch all the other ones up haha. So not sure if I like the placement but it works for now. Fires up no problem.

Also my tail light lenses were bad. One was faded really bad. If you held it to the light it it was mostly clear with some pink haha. The other one wasn't bad. It had one stress crack by one of the screw holes the color was good though. It may or may not have been me I'm not admitting to any of it. Anyways I got a set of 3 IH ones in like new condition for the same price as a set of new replacement ones so I stayed original. Found them on eBay. It's like the Johny Cash song "One Piece at a Time" haha. The one that was faded looks a lot worse in person. The pic does however show the horrible paint job it came with. silly p/o's.

Having the I.H. logo on the lens is pretty cool! Nice score.
Your making good headway.

Thanks I thought they were to. I think I'm going to get as close to original as I can with a few upgrades. I'll probably start getting into the body work here soon. I'll feel a lot better when that's done. I read your thread on quieting down your scout. It was really clean. Keep up the good work.

Ok so it's small but this is bugging me. My horn doesn't work. It has all the components spring, cap, metal plate And three screws. There are four holes though. I thought one hole was supposed to be empty so I left the one that seemed to be out of place. I know the horn works. If I put something metal in the extra hole the horn sounds, but it will not sound just off the cup. All three of my screws are te same length and short. I've read that one is supposed to be longer. Is this my problem if so which screw hole should it go in?

Also my scout has taken a back seat till after oct 5. I'm out in Albuquerque NM training. I'm a professional fighter and have a big one coming up. If any one gets a chance check it out it's UFC FX5 in Minnesota. Hoping for the big bonus so I can make my scout pretty haha. Oh my name is Justin Edwards I wasn't sure if any other scout guys follow the UFC. Anyways my poor scout will get some tlc come October. I'm also bummed I'm missing the Springfield Oh event it's 25 minutes from my home 😭
