Default Gas in oil and a miss

So recently I did a complete tune up on my scout. Carb rebuild, points, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, condenser, coil. I did the tune up because I had a miss at low rpm. Needless to say it is still there. Tomorrow I am hopefully getting my hands on a compression tester and will post results when it have that complete. Any ideas I know it could be rings or a valve but is one more commonly a problem than the other?

My next problem is I have gas getting into my oil. I noticed this and changed my oil and it seemed good for awhile but now the oil level is rising and I have a leak so it's getting gas in faster than oil is leaking out. My question is what could be causing this? Something in the mechanical fuel pump, a leak down from up above? Could it also be tied to the miss that I am getting?

I'm no expert at this stuff just able to fix the easy stuff and diagnose the easy stuff so hopefully someone can give me some guidance.

My 1st WAG for fuel in the oil would be the fuel pump. It's not often that happens, but it will if the diaphragm is cracked. My second thought would be a leaking inlet valve in the carburetor; but then again the high fuel level in it's bowl would keep it from running by flooding out.

A miss could be any number of things: leaking or stuck cylinder valve, vacuum leak as you say it only does it at idle or a restricted idle circuit that didn't get cleaned out during the tune up.

Another vote for bad fuel pump, the original 152 in my '65 had a lot of gas in the oil, it was the fuel pump leaking into the oil pan.

Is the diaphragm something one can buy desperate or will it have to be a new pump in general. I guess that if I am going to do it I may as well do it right and just opt for a whole new fuel pump.

And thanks for the input on the miss I will look into the ideas and keep you guys updated with more info to get it ironed out.

Again big thanks

A new fuel pump is around $30. Not worth the bother of: A. Finding a diaphragm, then, B. rebuilding the pump which requires careful attention to detail.

Got my new fuel pump this morning. I would have it in already but its beyond hot in the shop and my dad says he refuses to work on to with me (I don't really need him but it's nice to have someone that knows a little more than me helping) plus we both had to work all day. I did however get the oil drained so I won't have to do that later.
