and if you feel it on hills with a turbo engine and 3.73s, im sure id feel it pretty hard since i have 3.54s.

edit: just looked through your photos and realized youre also n/a...my bad
so you really think id be fine with 31s honest?
or would i be pretty darn slow?
also do you know if 3.73s or 4.10s will fit with factory limited slip? as i have it in both diffs..
I have a SD33 from a Airforce Tug that replaced my SD33T.

alright its settled!
im gonna get 31s!
if im unsatisfied ill just re-gear my diffs.
im also gonna do a dana 18 swap so i can an overdrive so i may not need to re-gear cuz i plan on using the od as a gear splitter, especially after reading a comment about someone saying they think their sd33na could use an extra gear maybe even two inbetween 2nd and 3rd.
in about a year im gonna have one bad ***** ride!!!
boy this owning a scout is the most exciting vehicle ive ever had and ive had something like 17 or 18 vehicles! hahaha holy sh!t thats too many as im only 23!

thanks guys for all your help!

also careyweber,
do you recommend me getting a pyrometer even though im n/a?
and do you know of any easy mods i can do for a performance gain?
i know they probably be minimal at best but any little bit helps!
im planning on doing exhaust with a perforated core glass pack and a "cold air" intake set up to get it from breathing air from the hot side of the engine...is there anything else you would recommend?
thanks again your comments have been most helpful!!!

My Traveler runs 33's with 3.73 gears. I have a 3" straight pipe and have done some tweeking on the pump, I watch the pyro like a hawk. In short I love the setup, but it needs watched, the motor will put out more power than it can really take, hence the pyro. On the flats without wind, it cruises easily at 70+ and gets 20+ in mileage (I also have a 6" lift). Hills or wind take their toll though. Personally, I built what I wanted and like it, but YMMV.

so it turns out the scout 2 has 3.73s i feel like an idiot but thats what happens when i believe what the previous owner tells me, and the front and rear really are limited slip! yay me!
so i totally am getting 31s, no question about that anymore at all.
and a shackle lift so i have the clearance for chains and they are cheap.

I realize this is a few months past due but figure I'd offer my .02
I was shopping pizza cutters for my Scout 80's 15" wheels last year. Got deployed so didn't purchase...

A salesman at Sears Tire Center found some that would work. Unfortunately, I can't remember the specifics but they were a dually tire. Obviously not the best for off road applications but the tread pattern, from memory, was similar to BFG AT's.
I THINK they were 31-15X9.5.
