New toy...Mini Scout

I have a fellow here in town that makes kit Cobras that is willing to build the mold. I was planning to have bodies built next winter if there is any interest. If you are going to make them I will not pursue it.

I don't think you'll have any trouble selling them. could prolly sell em all right here? but then again,when your out & about an other people see them that don't have an IH,then they'll want 1.? jeff

If I remold the bodies then it will probably be a while.
I have lots of projects in my yard not getting attention right now.

I will probably strip this original body and do the body work to make it presentable but there is no way to remove all the warps that develop after 30yrs.
So I will make a mold of the body after I paint it and before I stick the decals on it so the impressions don't end up in the mold.


Talking to Robert this weekend at the binder bash in eastern Wa, His figured from his fiberglass guy there would be about $500 in materials in the body.

It may turn out like the alum manifolds that Mike Ismail made.
Everyone wanted them but once done, not many would buy them due to the price point of a limited production run.

No matter who does them it would need to be a labor of love because I doubt there will be any profit margin if you figure in the man hours and materials.

i coud see the whole thing being made with the new body and new frame and engine for about $1000. But at that price point, how many would still buy one?

I thought about just making a body and modifying it to mount on a 4wd quad. At least it would be 4wd and the original seat could be cut out so you could sit on the quad seat.

Make the roll cage real, extend the nerf bars outside the body, and hit the trails!!!
