I asked my Jeep buddy (also named David) if he'd like to ride along. He's gonna try to get off work.

It'd be cool if your buddy comes along... I might actually wheel the TJ some instead of the Waggy. it depends on if I'm called upon to lead a group or not, If we're short of Trail Guides, I might need to lead a black group, which would be a real challenge for the TJ and the Scout Otherwise, we'll fall in with a Blue group, Plus the Waggy is still fragile, so if I do break it, I'll want the TJ as backup...

How're you gettin the Waggy and the TJ here? I thought David couldn't drive yet. Is the Waggy already here?
Sounds like my friend won't be able to make it. Has to work. More food for the rest of us. Is David's friend still planning on coming?

A really great event, put on for a really great cause, by a really great group of guys.
The weather was dry but HOT! Lots of beverages (Non Alcoholic during the day, otherwise in the evening) were consumed. I didn't get a lot of pictures on Saturday, because I was just too busy having fun... The turn out was decent Saturday, and we started of with four groups. I was tailing Rich's group in his fairly typical route up the creek. Things went pretty well with the Waggy, and most of the group was doing pretty good. But as we were getting towards the split for Boulder Byway, Ty's Scout started having a few problems, His alternator wasn't fielding properly, and his temperature was running pretty high. I ran Ty back down to the field and lent him my TJ to run home and grab some spare parts from his pile o' scout spares, and I zipped back out onto the trails to catch up to the rest of the group. I came back in from the top, and got to do a bit of Boulder Byway in the reverse direction from what I had ever done before. It was a challenge but I think it might actually be easier coming into it that way... It wasn't too long after that till Ty got back and yelled on the CB, So I ran back to where he was on the trail, and we got him back in the mix again. He replaced his upper radiator hose and added coolant to get things back up to the top, then we tightened up his Alternator belts and checked all the wiring, then we caught back up to the group over near Heckler's. Things went well, until we got over to Slip-n-Slide, which was relatively dry, which is to say, the mud was thicker than usual. I was too far back for a good look, But Ty made a truly heroic run to great cheering, and got his Scout about 2/3 of the way up before a load bang, as he bent a rim and popped the passenger side tire off the bead. I made several runs back to the field to pickup a hammer and an air pump, and Ty beat his rim straight, and got it back on the bead and pumped back up. Alas , when he got the ol' binder back on the ground and fired up, she had no oil pressure, and wasn't sounding too healthy, so we limped her back to the field, and as soon as we got back to the field, the oil pressure came back and it sounded fine again. I headed back out, and caught up to the group, We ran a few more obstacles and then headed for Body Shop. As I approached it, I noticed that no one was actually trying to go through it, but there were a lot of spectators, I was quickly goaded into trying it.. (OK, it didn't take much goading, I was actually itching to try it...) The Waggy gave it a valiant try; But with my ham handed driving, her fat ***, and the 4.10 gearing, this was as far as she could get before she just wouldn't move anymore; (Not spinning the tires, just wouldn't move forward!) Sean then showed us how it's done; A little later, Sean offered me the chance to take his Scrambler through body shop, and the thing is just amazing, he's built a first class crawler in this beast. Not long after this, we retired to the member's area, and sat around and talked for a while, and did the raffle drawings around 5:30, Saturday was a blast, but really tired us out. Sunday, as usual, had a smaller though still good turnout, but somehow, the three groups managed to keep getting in each other's way through out the day, Of course that means I got pictures of all the groups. Ty was riding with me today, and also walking and taking pictures, he took many of the Sunday photos on my camera, and did a great job with it. We headed for the lower creek, and up to the Gulge. The Unlimited Ruby ant the FJ Cruiser both found this Middle black trail to be quite a challenge, but got through with some Rock Stacking, and a slight tug on the FJ, Really both performed very well for the hard terrain they were tackling. At the top of The Gulge I got separated from my group, as a bunch of Buggies and Truggies invaded to do house, That was OK, it was a lot of fun watching them... This Toyota tackled it with verve, and managed to roll twice before finally getting to the other side.. And this Buggy. came flying off the other side in a quick and entertaining descent, but landed with all four wheels on the ground... All in all, Sunday was another amazing day of wheeling! I met a lot of great new people this weekend, and hope to wheel with you all again soon!
