WOW that thing is everything i'm trying to do it's stunning beautiful awesome. I'm still learning my axle science but does it matter if it has a "c" clip or not is there any strength difference. love the way you did the fenders very clean where did you get those?

I had smaller flares, but had to get the larger ones to pass inspection. The front D60 is quite a bit wider.
I'm running 4.10s but I have a diesel, 4.56 would be good for a gasser. D44s would be marginal for 35"+ tires, depending on your driving style YMMV. A "c-clip" axle is a semi-floating axle (typical 1/2 ton axle), that means that the axle shaft does double duty, supporting the weight of the vehicle and transferring torque. A c-clip retains the axle shaft in the differential, some semi-floating axles (Ford 9" and some D44s) use a bearing retainer rather than a c-clip. There is only one bearing on the axle shaft. If you break a semifloating axle shaft, the axle and tire will usually exit the vehicle in an abrupt manner. A full floating axle is much stronger (typical 1 ton axle), it has two bearings and the hub rides on a spindle. The hub supports the weight of the vehicle. The axle shaft "floats" and only has to transfer torque, not support the weight of the vehicle. An easy way to tell the difference between a semi-floating axle and a full floating axle is the semifloating axle has a flat flange with wheel studs, the full floating axle has a large hub that sticks out through the center of the wheel. It's a lot of work to swap in full sized axles, you can check out my build: Long version: http://www.justih.org/Binder-Bench/s...ead.php?t=7341 Shorter version in the Binder Builds: http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=95965
