Default oil pump

Help no oil to top of motor 1964 152ci 4 cyl engine replaced oil pump and used drill to make shure it worked did that in a pail help thanks scotts scout 1990

Lemme guess...text message via phone? Okay, let's try to sort through this. Please correct me if I'm wrong at any point. You rebuilt or replaced the oil pump...You somehow spun it in a pail of liquid to verify suction...You then installed it in the engine, replaced the oil pan and filled crank case with oil. Now, did you pull the distributor so that you could spin the pump with a chopped of screwdriver blade chucked into a power drill? Did you also slowly rotate the engine by hand with a breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt while a helper continued to operate the drill? This is necessary in order to randomly align the various oil spit holes in the camshaft. Do you have the valve cover off?

also have the cam bearings been replaced? If the rear bearing is not aligned properly, the oil will not flow to the top of the engine.

just make sure that you spin the oil pump the right direction,C-wise,jeff
