Default Delicacy of exhaust manifold

ok its been one of those days, pool liner ripped (95deg this week so i gotta reline the pool)cub cadet broke and my battery charger also took a crap..any how i have been chasing a problem for a month where i thought the H2O pump was going out or cavitating (i even purged all air outa the cooling system)..what was heard is if i increased rpm my rattle ceased as well as when the mill warmed up..had me stumped until i was real close to being able to drive the beast...started checking all bolts underneath (PM crapola) and i found my rattle..drivers side exhaust had come loose from the manifold (just the pipe)..so whats the torque spec there (if any) and how tight should those 2 bolts be?? the donut is intact and since i only drove it 50 miles since last october nutin is damaged..month and half been chasing it and its a darn loose exhaust pipe..go figure--god speed

Bummer...From the title, I was expecting this thread to be about chef-inspired manifold cuisine. As for the torque of the down-pipe bolts, it doesn't have to be that precise. Whatever feels securely snug, but not overly tight to an educated elbow based on bolt diameter and thread pitch.

I had a similar problem on my 800, I finally got it fixed when I went to a flex pipe on the manifold. Apparently the twisting of the body as I went over curbs and in general driving worked it loose at the manifold. I even tried double nutting and still came loose. Seems to be OK now with the flex joint.
