Default 2 HP Water-Cooled Verticals with Pump Jack

This is owned by a fellow named Rich Hudak in Prospect, Pennsylvania. His description:
"Here is a nice original 2hp famous pumping engine, not a put together engine. Probably 75-85% of the original paint/pinstriping. great running engine. there is video of the engine on smokstak. I also have a nice gould pump that goes with the engine. the skid is also original, the battery box is a repro. There is a skid under the engine and the pump to keep it all together. the engine has the original fuel saver on the intake valve with the patent date. numbers match. built in 1911. crankcase cover says "famous pumping engine". all piping is original. has water pump and screen for cooling. original screen. water tank bottom has been repaired. the head and cylinder also have repairs but you have to look hard to see them."
There is a photo of it on a trailer at the bottom.
Immediately below is the video of it.

If you get the idea of buying one of these, come flush. His is for sale, and he wants $7000, just to give you an idea of what they go for. Maybe he will get that, but even if he came down on his price, it is still a lot of money.

Also, HERE is a LINK to a cool posting by Paul Spence out of Lakewood, New Jersey about his restoration of a 2 HP vertical with an original IHC walking-beam pump jack. There are a lot of good photos and other information.

Default 1904 IHC Logo

Here is a photo of a decal taken from the battery box on a 1904 8 HP IHC engine. I just thought it was neat. This is perhaps one of the very oldest IHC emblems there is.

Default Re: Engine Spotter's Guide: Famous Engine Photos Only

This is a 1917 Nonpareil vertical engine, owned by Jan DeKlerck of Belgium. Looks like they did some major surgery on the cylinder some time ago. This is fit with a low-tension magneto, although I can't see it.

You can visit Jan's website. He has a lot of engines by other makers.
