Thanks for the offer, it is a Dana 20. Right now I will work with what I have as I believe I can get it all back together but if that changes I will let you know.

A short update on some of the activities this weekend, much better overall than last weekend. Saturday morning went to the pick-n-pull and found they moved from Sellers road to West Mount Houston, much bigger lot and now they have broken the cars up into old and new and the old ones aren't really that old but I guess it is all relative. It is a hike into the old car section so I limited my parts to transmission and power steering fluid dipsticks since the old ones are a bit melted. I scoped out some new rear and side windows for the custom terra top and have have some ideas but that will have to wait.

After the junkyard the transfer case got some more attention with new shift rail seals, a new poppet ball and new twin sticks from IH Only North. Before it all went together the front shift rail got some grinder work to give a few more options when shifting using the twin sticks (this write up is what was used as a basis, keep in mind the IH Dana 20 rails are a little different and the poppet detents and shift pills are 90 degree to one another, not 180 degrees as in the write up). Everything went together great and turning the rod that 1/4 turn until it is passed the detent poppet ball worked like a charm.

Today the transmission received new seals and gaskets, save for the pump gasket and o-ring as the kit didn't have one - they are on their way and hopefully should have them by this weekend. Two modifications that were made in the process were to plug the vent in the pump that sits behind the torque converter and drill and tap a new vent hole in the extension housing (red arrows in the picture). Also from some old parts laying around the Terra's transmission now has a 3" deeper tranny pan (and filter extension), the original from my Dodge diesel pickup.

A few pictures to keep it interesting.

More of that "out-of-the-box" thinking we've come to expect from you Buddy!
Nicely done. I may have an extra oil dipstick, just doesn't have a tube. Let me know and I'll dig it out if you like.

Thanks. The 392 that is going in it has the front sump oil pan, front pickup tube and front dip stick. I will have to swap over to the Scout oil pan, rear pickup tube and pan mounted dipstick. I will have to look at the oil dipstick on the old motor and verify its condition and length vs. the one from the 392.

Did you get back into the lair or head to the lake with the nice hot weather we had this weekend?

While adjusting the steering wheel centering on my Dodge pickup tonight I found the lost poppet ball bearing, about 30' from where I last saw it, in an expansion crack in the driveway. Looks like I have a spare now.

Saturday was spent helping Nick with his ball joints and Sunday was mostly just cleaning and swapping parts from the 345 Terra motor to the 392 that will go into it. Hoping to get it wrapped up and put back between the frame rails in the next few weeks.
