Hey Eric, what was the trick to getting the distributor out? Cannot for the life of me figure out how... Thought it just pulls up. If so it must be stuck bad...

Yup, just pulls up after you remove the hold down clamp. You should be able to spin the housing. If not, then it is stuck and needs some gentle persuasion.

As much as I wanted to keep up the posts, It has been a crazy couple of months, I have been told that I am being transfered to a Northern Border Station (we originally thought we would be in Texas for at least 3 more years) I have some concern taking the scout up there, as I was told that they rust very easy. My wife is threating to make it a plow truck and I DO NOT want that. I am afraid I might have to sell it, unless someone has an idea to keep it rust free ( I wont let her put a plow on it)

Some options:

1). Keep it in the garage, with a cover, and wait until some good rains wash all the salt away during spring.
2). Keep it stored in Texas, and get it when you can transfer back to a southern boarder station
3). Keep it with a family member in a non rust belt state.
4). Tell your boss, you can't go north due an ailment/family issue/etc.

Good luck! Sorry to hear they're shipping you up north.

August 2012, "the build" begins:
4BT, 4L60E, Dana 300 w/Tera-Low, Linked, lifted and stretched (just a bit).

I hear Davis is having a big hamster ball made to keep his in, once his is complete. You can probably have a second one made at a discount.

Regardless, from the pictures you have posted on line, it looks like you have a really nice Scout, and I am certain you will have no problem selling it, if your situation forces you to go that route.

Sorry to hear of your transfer Rust! That frame was POR-14'nd, so it should last quite a while. Perhaps having some undercoating professionaly applied to the underside would help? Any pictures of your progress?
