I agree whole heartedly Jeff. Luckily if its an issue I have a back up. I got a screaming deal on it so I'll make it work out. I appreciate all the great advice and guidance. I'm headed over now to get this scout home.

Seal the edges of casting plugs. Use the brass kind. Your 345 uses 1 5/8" on the sides and 1 3/4" on the ends. You really don't need sealant on the brass plugs but I always use some anyway - cheap insurance against any small imperfection of the block holes.
