Check the remote ignition switch down lower on the top side of the steering column. It is actuated by a plunger rod that is tied into the locking key switch. There may be a bind at that location.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't even see your post until today....duh.
I delved into the whole column, and holy crap, talk about a can of worms...I had to break out the ignition lock cylinder. I'm going to get a new one today, and see if I can get it put back together.

What was the outcome for you?

I am having an issue getting the cylinder out with the key in the 'Off' position.

I have tried picking the ignition to move it to the 'On' position to no avail.

I have located the "rocking" tab on the cylinder beneath the area that needs to be punched out.

The tab slides free, but the cylinder won't budge out of the column.

Next step is going to be drilling out the ignition, mm by mm, until it turns. Unless there is another option to try.
