I've always like Manuel chokes. That's what I have. I never have to touch the petal just pull the choke and bump the starter and it fires right up. That's just my humble opinion though.

I like the idea of automatic choke, however, like you I could never actually get mine to work just right. Probably because I didn't know how to properly set it up. A process which I'm sure could be easy if I would slow down and get it right. Patience is never easy for me.
That's one reason I missed the simplicity of a manual choke, the other being; on a cold day or when my finicky Holley 1904/152 wasn't running smooth due to humidity, barometric pressure, old carb., dirty gas, mystical malfunction, what have you; I could apply just enough choke to smooth it out during all range operation. I do believe there are a few different types of automatic chokes though... If you do go auto, there could be a better type of auto choke for your application but that is beyond my experience. My days of carburetor madness will soon be at an end. HTH

A manual choke still has to be set up right/adjusted correctly for it to function correctly and then you still have to mess with it every time you drive the truck. On the truck I have the manual choke on I often find when I get off the freeway on my drive to work that the truck is idling high, because I forgot to take it off, and hence used more gas than I needed to. Never have that problem with the auto choke rig.

Is that possible with Motorcraft 2100?

That was just Jay being Jay, no it's not possible. Since you are dealing with a MC2100 stick with the auto choke to go manual you'll have to use one of the universal conversion kits and they stink and are a pain to make work right. If you've got one with the exhaust/heater hose clipped units you can use a Holley choke coil and convert it to electric.
