You need to check the length from the kingpin/knuckle to the tie rod hole.
Then find a pitman arm the same length.
This should make it equal.
You can increase and decrease the ratio by changing the box or the length of the pitman arm.
I'm pretty sure bill is right. The knuckles don't hit the stops, and the wheels turn equally, so the pitman arm is splined correctly and the drag link is the right length.
All that leaves is the pitman arm length or the gearbox.

Anybody have any experience with installing an "inverted "T" or crossover setup?

1935 1210 steering tips

I didn't think they had 1210s in 1935,or power steering.

In 1935, the power steering was the 'Armstrong' brand!!

The 2wd and 4wd steering box mounting brackets are usually different.

Iam almost positive the bracket is different, get the correct pitman arm of of a 69 to 73 4x4 with power steering(74 and 75 are different)1/2 ton or 3/4 ton will work.I did the convertion years ago,on a truck I no longer have in one peice, and everything worked great by using all the factory 4x4 parts.(Dennis the boxes are different on 74-75 2 wheel drives only)

Thanks Jeff!
Is that bracket made of any exotic materials like gold or unobtainabium?
I don't know of any more 4x4 IHs in my area I can get any parts off of.
The frame I got the dana axle from had manual steering.
Just from memory, I can't think of any differences in the mounting bracket, then again I probably wasn't looking.
Does it mount farther forward or back, make it sit lower, or just change the angle?

Thanks everybody for your help!
I was starting to gather parts for a inverted "T" setup, but my deep oil pan on my Perkins Diesel is totally in the way! It will take an extreme Z-link to get around the oil pan then the springs.
I really didn't want to drill new holes in the frame to rotate the gearbox anyway.

I'm not looking for a rock crawler, just a street truck mostly that will still be capable of occasional off road and snow. Mostly I just want it to drive better than a scout.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I got brackets from 2WDs when I did two conversions in the past.

I just looked up the bracket in my parts book and it states there are 2 brackets and a spacer bracket for the 4x4(237 614 r1) and there are 5 different steering arm for the steering gear, depending on axle code,so your bracket might be right and you just need the spacer
