1980 Scout II Air Cleaner

Is this air cleaner correct for 1980? If so, I guess they changed the design in 1980?

Looks like a ford air cleaner to me. 1980's still used the same air cleaner.

I kinda remember that the CA emissions Scouts for 1980 had a similar air cleaner...

But I am not positive..

Do you have the line setting ticket..
Check for CA Emissions.

Jeff - You are correct, the Scout was shipped to San Diego and had California emissions. Was anything else different, like the carb?

I thought it had the wrong air cleaner on it, then I ran across another 1980 Scout II in California with the same air cleaner.

Besides the air cleaner I want to say they had a bit more.. If you pull a repair manual out they will show the CA emissions diagrams and show some of the differences..

Not sure if the carb itself was any different though..

JJ - I need to check the carb to see what it is. I just bought the Scout.

I'll bet it's a 345 w/TQ. I've seen that same odd air cleaner before on California vehicles. IIRC, there's a reference to a charcoal ring in the literature. I had a 1980 w/304 and the 2bbl - that air cleaner was the more familiar one we're used to, but not CA.

This Scout has a 304 and CA emission. I will check to see what two barrel carb it has.
