Throttle shaft? I'm still at quite a loss. I know you're trying and its difficult when one doesn't possess basic technical jargon, but this attempt at further clarification has only served to muddy the waters further.

There's only one spring on that side of carb. It's about an inch in length . That's the spot that was causing problems . But this muddy water could get really bad lol so don't let it stress u out . I do thank you and everyone on here for the help. I'm learning as I go and it's fun!!!!! Today I'm going to place valve cover gaskets. There is one bolt that stays spinning on my tranny plate because the threads are gone. I'm going to try tiflawn tape and see if the bolt will grab.

Oh, I'm not stressed. Okay, another question. What's a tranny plate? Do you mean the fluid pan? Teflon tape won't work my friend. Think helicoil.

Yes it would be the fluid plate, I've always heard transmission plate so maybe just in tx! Lol I went ahead and bought a tap tool and rethreaded that spot. Came out ok but I still need a gasket for the fluid plate. So I will see if I can get that part tomorrow. I will also be replacing light bulbs throughout the exterior of scout , I removed the lens from the rear and they look ok but I would like to get new side marker lens. I searched them and I was shocked to see the prices !!! I might have to make my own lol. I'm hoping my wires are ok, I mean the lights work but the back up lights were not working so I hope the bulbs were bad

Okay, for a second I was thinking it was something a former man/woman who'd had surgery and was now the opposite would use to scarf their chow out of! That's a man baby!

So since you've got the pan off and the fluid drained, or you're going to be to replace the gasket, I strongly suggest you at least change the filter and adjust the bands as per the procedure outlined in the service manual. It is also detailed in Tejas-styrull lamens terms by an honest-by-God Texian over on the IH Only North tech forums. All the replaceable wear parts inside that slushbox are pure-d-dam Chrysler shtuff. Common as dog feces. Refill with Dexron fluid. Check level with rig hot-idling in neutral, not park and not parked on the side uh no hills niether.
