Default checklist for getting a barnfind up and running

I may be headed for Nevada this weekend to investigate and possibly retrieve a possible barnfind. Its a 1975 4x4 with an auto trans. The fellow selling claims it was running ok 3 years ago. Its been sitting since.

I am thinking my barnfind kit should include:

a fresh battery
5 gals on gas
oil, atf, brake fluid, water, 90wt
points, rotor, cap autolite plugs (did a 1975 with a 345 have points or a goldbox)?
spark plugs
timing light, dwell meter,
test light

Is there anything else I should bring for an ih truck thats been sitting for 3 years?

Thats cool you found that truck. I'm heading out of town this weekend to drive home a '73 T'all 4x4. I would add fire extuinguisher to that list.

Fix a flat or an air tank for the likely flat tires. roll of duct tape and electrical tape, roll of 14 or 16 gauge wire and various connectors (likely to be mouse modified wiring) a spare carb would be great if you have one, beer.

If its a 75 it would not have points, but since you said 1100,its not a 75,or a 74 they where 100 and 150.1100 is 73 and back(when it was built not nessicarily what the title states)73 would have points(holly curved style most likely)

my mistake on saying it is an 1100. I don't know if it is a 1/2 ton yet but I have a feeling it is. According to the owner it is a 1975 4x4 pickup with a v8 auto trans but not getting much more info than that. So that means it could be a 100, 150 or 200 right? with a 304, 345 or 392?

If you have any spark plug wires, I would sure throw those in also. Mice love them.

Also jumper cables if the spare battery runs down.

Don't try to run it off the gas tank
Disconnect before the fuel pump and stick it in a fresh can of gas
