Default SS2 picking up this weekend

I looked at a 79 SS2 over a year ago. It is all original and all there but rough. I wasn't interested since I had other parts rigs and projects so turned it down. I didn't think it was worth fixing. Now that I want to convert my Getto Scout to a SS2 I was wondering if it was still there. So Sat. I drove up about 1-1/2 north since I didn't have the guys number anymore. It still is there but nobody around. Left number in the door. He calls last night. I am going to pick it up sat. I will take pictures this upcoming weekend when I get it home. It has a front role cage from rear seat forward kinda neet and a winch. I will post pics on here when I drag it home.

Keep it up Darren and you're gonna run out of room in your sig line!

Looking forward to seeing it.

By the way, did you here me yelling Saturday? I was going to a wedding in Frankenmuth and passed the Haslett exit so I yelled out "HI!"
Would have tried to stop but had a truck full of women and grandchildren and I didn't want all that estrogen leaking onto any of your Scouts.

See ya,
Dan

You should have stopped by anyway and snatched up your parts I still have for you. Well as far as the signature line goes, the SS2 won't be on there long and now updated the thing as the parts rigs I have stripped all good parts and sent what was left to the crusher. Trust me if you could see my garage you would know there was nothing left on them worth saving.

Here is the pics I brought it home today, its a pile of **** but it does have alot of good parts. The only sheetmetal that is good is the left front fender, windshield frame, inner fenders are good, core support and grill, all the grill stuff. The inner door inserts are near perfect have the hinges, soft doors. Dash is ok. At least is has some awesome bumpers. The winch bumper is really cool it has a little twist on one side but that can be taken out pretty easy. All that is needed is the winch motor. Seats are shot but the frames are not rusted out, they would be awesome to redue them. The roles bar is solid. Oh....rear floor is good think I will cut tat out and keep it and the floor pans they are good. I should have it stripped down this week. Then either it will sit out back or send it to the crusher. It does have the vin etc inside the cab in the lower kick panel on each side. A couple of things maybe someone could answer.....The dash has snaps on each side of the defrost vent. Did these have covers or a grill? It also has plastic plates over the spot where rear ash trays would go, was that factory I think it was. Also the plate that covers the shifter is a cool textured finish, have not seen one was this only on the SS2's?

Darren, the snaps on the dash pad were for covers for the defrost vents. Those dash pads are hard to find, if it's in good shape it might be worth what you paid for the truck! And if the shifter cover has like a plastic coating on it, I've had a couple Scouts with that.....
I sent you a PM about the bumper too, I can pick that up when I haul the engine up to you and get the other Scout
