Default duraspark conversion help

hey all!!

i gonna use a spare gold box dizzy that i converted to duraspark guts on my in-laws grain truck.

question is this:

i want to use the gm hei module to fire the coil. if anyone has done this, what pins did you connect the pickup wires to? specifically which pin did you hook the orange wire to and what pin did you hook the purple wire to.
from what i have read here before - if you swap these around the wrong direction it wont work quite right.

as it sits now it is working great and making good spark no matter which way i have the pickup wires hooked up. but i wanna make sure i have it right before i hard-wire it in place.

thanks guys!!

michael

Purple to P and orange to C or N depending on how it is labeled.
All the wiring for the conversion is on the www.justinternationals.org site.
It's part of the FI conversion using the DS conversion and the GM ign module.

wiring
Here is the EFI wiring.
I think I have one from a guy that used it and piggy backed his accel ign on to it if you want to see that one.

It will run either way.... however, if you have the wires backwards, it will retard the timing instead of advancing it. An easy way to check is to start up the engines and shine a timing light on the timing mark. Have a buddy hit the gas and if the timing retards, shut it off and switch the wires. If the timing advances, you're good to go.
