I recently bought a Scout 800 with the 196.
It was last licensed in 97 I have replaced the battery, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, and condenser. I had Outback rebuild my carb. I can only get it to run when it is fully choked and floored. It will run for about 15 seconds and then die. As soon as I put in the choke, it dies. I have the fuel/air screw 1.5 turns out. The fuel filter is working fine. I'm running dual inline fuel filters and they are still clean. I'm located in Spokane, just off Maple on lower South Hill. I would be willing to pay someone who can help me get this thing running. I also have replaced the master cylinder and bled the brakes. I have bought some nice wheels and 31 10.5 15's that I am dying to put on, but they are at my work and I cant get the scout there!!!!! I had it running for a while, and then gas started coming out of the top of the bowl from the overflow valve. I noticed upon inspection that the brass washer from these pics was missing. I put in a silicone washer that fits but it might be a little too big. I took the bowl cover off, held up the float and when turned over it had a fuel coming out of the hole above the needle, but no longer was coming out where the fuel inlet seat screw attaches. Here is a pic of the washer that I am missing..... Any ideas what I should look into next? Last edited by SERENate; 04-29-2012 at 04:50 PM. Reason: changed title |

Check out this page toward the bottom, it describes your scenario pretty closely- http://www.ihonlynorth.com/forums/ca...b-stuff-3.html
