My 16197427 has a brake wire and I would assume I would hook it into the brake like switch. But I don't know what it does.
Also, during cold operation, is timing retarded or advanced? vs the same location in the tables when at temperature? I can't seem to chase out this cold running misfire issue that stalls the engine. Runs rock-solid though when warm.

Pin E13 ppl is a brake signal that IIRC connects to a normally open contact on the brake light switch that feeds a 12v signal to the PCM anytime the brake is hit. If you don't have a late model 4l60e or 4l80e then it really doesn't matter.
The timing is increased during cold start. Just hook up a timing light and start the engine and you can watch the timing. You should already know what your warm timing is at idle so when it's cold just subtract that and you will know how much is being added. To much timing will cause a miss. What is your base timing and what is it set at in the bin? What is your timing supposed to be at warm idle? map/rpm cell in the timing table.

Thanks Bill.
Yeah, my warm timing at the distributor is at 0. I think the PCM base programming is at 10 or 11. BJYL cal. The miss only occurs cold and after it's at a few 100 rpms over idle and when accelerating so I can't check that with a light. I'll give the dist a ccw rotation to take some base out. I might suffer in other areas but that will tell me if I have a bigger problem or if I just have to change a few cells. Oh, I had one more question. There is some "power boost" mode my PCM keeps entering and exiting while going down the highway. It's annoying. Do you know what that mode is doing? I'd like to be in that mode all the time.

Have you performed any of the basic chip adjustmentgs to that bin or are you running it stock?
Did you insert the base timing tables from the FAQ's? Quote:
The bin has PE-power enrichment. You do not want it going into PE al the time. You need to look at the PE tables and parameters in TP. You can adjust the TPS% and several other settings to adjust when it comes in. PE will add timing and richen the fuel AFR when in PE so it is like opening a 4 barrel and uses more fuel.

After losing my job in the fall my budget for the prom burner dried up. I'm working again but still paying off bills from that debacle. See previous statement Absolutely true. I'm actually scared I'll hose it and damage my engine. I don't know enough about what not to do to feel comfortable messing with it. Quote:

Do you have a programmer yet?
You will also need the chip adapter to install a programable chip into. You can't really make any reeal changes to the system without them.

Bill, can I see your RPM vs Temp vs Spark table?
Did you modify your from base? Thanks.

You can plug the base in and then just fill in the blanks.
Here's a screen shot of one.

Wow, thanks Bill!
The values are significantly different. At top left, I've got 20 (5 degrees more), and in bottom right it goes to 16 (half). My main spark bias is 9.8 what is yours? And why when I drop it 4, does it add 4 to every cell in the table? I would have thought it would drop (not raise) that as well?
