How many people here would be seriously interested in wing window replacement seals? I spoke to a manufacturer (https://www.metrommp.com/pages/CarClubs.html) that I found by chance and he indicated it might be available but the order would have to be fairly significant to justify the tooling. He thought maybe an order for 200 initially and I'm really not sure if that is realistic (especially for an 800). He thought the price would be around a $100.00 for a seal based on others they make.

I am interested in a set for a Scout II. Changing my wife's from panted to SS and the donor vent window seals are looking kind of bad.

But hers is a warm weather and top off most of the time so it's not a big deal. I would just like them to look better.

Timmy, Scout Light Line is working on that, sure do not want to waste money on duplicate tooling!

Hey John... That is good news. I just kinda stumbled on that site and was curious as to the demand, certainly seems to be some. Thanks.

I need (2) sets for the Scout 80/800, and chances are, depending on price, I might purchase an extra set to put back as a spare.

    But definitely 2 sets.

Really surprised the Scout II doesn't have this going already, a no brainer there. Looking at the list of vehicles that website made vent window seals for you would also think the 800/80 doors would have theirs as well.

    Hello John,

Thank you for your post concerning Scout 800 wing vent gasket.

It seems like you are implying some insight here. Could you possibly provide some type of educated guess when a product for the Scout 800 would be available?

It seems like there was recently (couple months ago) a big thread where someone had some insight as to new Scout 800 wing vent gasket.

Need one for a 63-68 Travelall, Travelette, Pickup and some Loadstars. Anyone making those these days?

I've got one NOS chrome wind wing with new rubber, but gonna need rubber for the other side...

I have two 800s and would be interested in 2 sets. If it doesn't work out thanks for the great try. Greg

I'd be interested in a Scout II and a set for a '64 Pickup.

Please keep up posted and thanks,

    Timmy -

Just to add a little more... I too am surprised that the 63-68 Pickup+ (possibly earlier) and Loadstar (possibly too mid-70's?) are not already being made (as well as the Scout II). Can someone knowledgeable outline the exact years included for the full-size and medium duty "Round-body" models that are the same?

If Metro Moulding Parts checks with the medium duty truck suppliers, I think they will find a need for their roundbodied Loadstar models that are/will remain in service for years to come, as well as, us here with lightline roundbodied Pickups, Travelalls and Travelettes.

Just a thought to identify needs and possible inventory purchasers from the actual manufacturer, so they can make a sizeable production run.

Here's to hoping we see some wind wing rubber for the roundbodies!

PS: I HAVE ONE NOS RUBBER THAT CAN BE USED FOR A PATTERN AND MAYBE MODERN TECHNOLOGY CAN DIGITIZE IT, THEN INVERT IT FOR THE OTHER SIDE. DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW IF THAT IS POSSIBLE? BUT, THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO IS SHIP IT OFF TO A MANUFACTURER ONLY TO NEVER SEE IT AGAIN...

We stock wind wing rubber kits for the 1961-68' Pickup, Travelall, Loadstar, etc. They are not cheap but we do have them available.
