Hoping to get some real work done on the scout this week. Hopefully I'll have the reverse shackle and hi steer done by weekend. Ill post on the build. If things go as planned I may get some body work done also.

Cotter is a pretty place. I was just in Midway last month. A few of us have been talking about a fishing trip over there. Got any suggestions for locations and good times of year?

Thanks for the "Shout Back" .... I'm already seeing several things that I will want to do down the road .... got a couple things that I'm gathering parts to complete already .... one at a time

Fishing is always good on the White, I happen to use a Fly Rod so Late Summer is "Hopper Season", but anytime the water is up is good for Spin Rods with Rooster Tails, and/or Crank Baits .... of course you can't hardly top Power Bait for catching fish!

Several places to stay just pick a section of river and there will be a Resort or Campground close. Most are very reasonable, and clean! Saturday evening Yellville has "Music on the Square", free music, food and just Nice Folks ....

If you are headed toward Midway again try the Outpost Restaurant (just across the MO/AR state line ... good food!

If your coming this way ... give a shout ... we can meet up somewhere!

Scout project took a hit. Since i last posted, we have remodeled a house and moved. We now live on a farm and bought some little horses. The new house has a 1200 sq ft shop. I have been dying to get in there and do some wrenching. Josey came over with another friend and we took off the front clip, removed the wiring and the gas tank. It was awesome having some company. Ill post pics tomorrow.

    Cool new ride!

Just picked up this beauty yesterday.

    Here are the specs:

    1973 1110- 2wd
    345 power
3 speed on the floor (used to be on the column)
Cool Rims and super low profile tires to make me go faster!
Very little Rust, and straight as an arrow...
    no power steering, or brakes.
    original AM Radio works!

Drove it home yesterday, and noted a few things:

    Front Brakes are shot
    PCV leaks like crazy
A little Cancer above the windshield, and a tiny bit in the bed.

Other than that, its a strong runner...perfect for my new farm truck!

I've been kicking myself for selling my D-Series truck, but someday I'll have another one

Dad bought a 72 1210 back in 88. I learned how to drive in that truck. He just gave it to me. I just have to figure out how to get it from California. I love these old d series. The scout is not light ditty any means but the trucks are much more put together imo.

    So...What's up?

I have been working on the tear down of the scout, but it's moving pretty (very) slow. I have removed the top, doors, tailgate, windshield frame and about half of the drivers side floor. I am replacing the floor mount/inner/outer rockers and part of the floor. Doing the same on the passenger side.

I put the front end back together and I dig the hi-steer. I just rolled the front end under the scout, but I still have to weld all the hangers up for the reverse shackle.

Sometimes, I feel the burn out. Looking forward to seeing some progress...:hammer:

Anyhow, what about you guys? What are you up to?

I'm waiting till spring to start-up the ol' scout project. In the mean time i'm buying parts for my axles. How are your cab mounts? Usually, those like to rust out too. Also, where are u located in Arkansas?

Cab mounts are totally shot, tho' I have seen worse. They are getting replaced as well. Seriously, what was IH thinking with the body panels?

I'm located in West Fork...It's a small town 8 miles just south of Fayetteville. NW arkansas. I see you are in mountain home...I need to get over there on day and do some trout fishin'! I hear bull shoals and norfolk tailwaters are the place to be for catching record trout.
