IMG_3524.JPG IMG_3525.JPG IMG_3526.JPG Picked this very rusty scout up to transplant the drivetrain into my good body. It's a 1979 sd33 with this turbo setup.
Rajay 3aa1eb6081 turbo and it's mounted using ?????? Kit. Anyone have any knowledge on these?

That’s a NA SD33 converted to turbo. Can’t comment on the turbo setup, never heard of that turbo.

There is a lot written on this forum about pasting a turbo onto a NA engine. Probably fine, but all of these engines have durability issues once they are turboed, factory or homebuilt. I am curious to see what pump is used. It appears to have a manifold pressure line routed around the valve cover so I expect to see a pump from a 1980 SD33 with the boost compensator.

Sorry for the crummy picture, I pulled it from a video of it running.

Found my engine numbers on the block. Great news! It's a factory turbo block! Sd33-02247T
Assuming the T means turbo according to all the info I could gather online.

Serial number ending in T means turbo block.

Is it possible this is a "wilcap" conversion? Didn't they use a Rajay turbo?
