I own a 1974 Fleetstar 2110A, with a gas motor. It has VS 549 stamped on the passenger side top of the block, with 136739 underneath it. Am I correct to assume that is the engine model and serial numbers? I was wondering what the horsepower rating. My owner's manual says 64.8 hp. Yes, I have the original owners manual and the original Allison transmission manual. The truck also came with the original Van Pelt wiring and plumbing diagrams.

you'd think it would be more than 64.8 hp. at least like 164 hp ?

here ya go john, these are mainly for the 2010 & 2050 F-star's. i don't have the newer info. so this prove's your owner's manual is mis-printed. i'd look on the door Vin tag. DSCF3448.JPG DSCF3449.JPG

That's TAXABLE horsepower. You want the NET Brake Horse Power (bhp)

Thank you for the photo. My distributor is back by the fire wall in the valley. I'll look at the VIN tag.

Man your lucky gas is cheap now! The one I had got 4mpg, IF I was lucky. Lots of power though. When ever I had to work on one of these it was always the little electric box on the firewall for the distributor(burned out).Michael
