I need to have an automatic transmission rebuilt in a Ford Explorer why my Scout drive train gets finished up.

Does anyone have any positive recommendations/suggestions? Preferably on the Dallas side of the metroplex.

    Thanks,

For a standard rebuild, I have used these guys several times:
    Emerald Transmission
    1835 Empire Central, # 3D
    Dallas, TX 75235
    972-484-8090

They are between I-35E & Harry Hines.

If you are not in a hurry, and willing to make the drive. This guy has rebuilt my transmissions. He does a good job at a fair price.

    Marty's Transmission
    817-237-7688

He has his own shop back behind his house and works at his own pace. Very nice guy!

Thanks for the comment, I am in the Lewisville/Highland Village area already, so that might be a good place to try.

And I have several other good suggestions also.

BADB0Y - thanks for your suggestion also, I don't know if its relevant, this isn't for my Scout and its not a manual transmission, its a Ford explorer with an automatic.

Emerald built 2 700R4s for my Camaro and Firebird that worked beautiful.

I used the Transmission Shop's Garland location. They did good work, but damaged the paint and fender on the car and wouldn't fix it. Won't return to them due to that.

My next trans for the Scout will come from Phoenix (in Weatherford), or Monster.

    thanks for the warning.

I'm not familiar with Phoenix, but I have heard all kinds of good things about Monster. I am planning to do the Turbo 700r4 Monster for my 1962. That is a ways off though.
