    Gotta do it for the "Waves" stripe, though. Good part is that you can still easily see all the tube work peeking out on the inside of the quarter from across the truck:

    I took Thursday and got a few things done this week. I decided that I want to take this Scout back home to finish, but I wanna get it running first. SO I started filling in the holes in my firewall that aren't going to be used anymore. That allows me to paint the firewall so I can get the drivetrain put together and sat in it, then get it running. Here is yesterday's progress report:

    The body work was very rushed, but overall it's okay for a trail Scout firewall. I'd be sanding it all off if it were a body panel, even on this Scout, but its fine for what it is. The color is sweet!

    And because I know SOMEONE will ask, the steering column hole was cut like that in 1999, when I had a 3" body lift on it and I moved the column down and forward to compensate and keep my linkage angles in check.
