Ok guys need some help, hopefully it is not a dumb question.
    I have a 69 800 with a 392 4spd.
Here is the question, does the Travellet/Travelall 5spd 4x4 fit on my Scout. If not please explain why?

    Thanks in advance

    Martin

The easy answer is no, the 5 speeds use a different bellhousing and worse than that a separate 205 transfercase. The tranny and xfercase is lots longer plus used a intermediate drive shaft.
Almost anything can be fitted if you have BIG$$$ to spend, but even then the short wheelbase limits options. Good Luck

Be easier to do a NV4500 and married case. All the a IH 5 speeds were 2wd only. IHPA sells adapters for the NV4500 and will give you an OD.

Thanks all for the quick response, I was just wondering, as the NV4500 seems to be the choice many prefer. I was not sure why nobody was keeping it all IH, but I was not aware of the divorce transfer case. So yes that makes it extremley difficult.

    Again thanks

Part of that difficulty involves cutting up and rebuilding the floor of the scout to accommodate all of the related infrastructure needed for such a swap.
