Has anyone on here ever replaced a Red Diamond with an IH diesel? The REDs and RDs were put in so many heavy work trucks for so many year that I’m sure it’s been done countless times. Wondering if a DTA360 or an early DT466 with the mech pump or something would bolt up nicely with adapter plates in the real estate used by those big gassers.
    Just thinking out loud...

Looking pretty quiet on the subject. I've talked with people that said they were working on it but never heard if anybody ever got it accomplished.
I toyed with the idea years ago but if I remember right, the DT466 is a tad long to fit without more modification than I wanted to do. And the DT360 is physically about the same size. Much bigger than say a 5.9 cummins. That's as far as I got on the idea.

I wanted to put a DT in an M5H6 in the 80's. The stock starter will hit the steering box.. Might be able to make it work with a modern gear reduction starter. Front cross memb would have to change. I soon decided a 5.9 Cummins was easier.

Any chance you have photos of the 5.9 swap?
