    Hello everyone,

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but what part number do I need for a 1960 B120 with a BD240 engine? It's of course a 12 volt, negative ground electrical system.

On a side note, should I keep the points ignition, what ballast resistor do I need? I can't seem to find what ohm resistor is needed.

    Thanks for any input!

Most folks will tell you to make the switch, but personally I like points. They are simple and you can trouble shoot anything wrong and replace just what needs replaced. Just getting the parts is harder to locate. Buy some spares and keep them with the truck. And yes you will occasionally need to file/adjust them but unless you are putting the miles on it, it should be years in between.
As for a ballast resistor, I don't know the ohm rating but I always just used mid 60's mopar resistors. We always had a number of parts cars around to pull one off of and I believe they are all the same. Something like a 67-68 dodge dart at a parts house.
