Actually, I can even show you the original, still stored in the camera.;) Or Eddie can tell you about the 8.6mpg that he averaged going out there, pulling the brown Scout with the Denali.

I, on the other hand, averaged a little over 24mpg in Blackie.  80mph and 24mpg. I love my Diesel Scout!:D

Besides...if I chopped it, I'd have made it a little more than 85!:D

How about a Scout interior with power windows, keyless entry, 1700 watt stereo, power seat, tweed headliner, etc, etc...

It barely a Scout...more of a yuppie-mobile. Duly will be on here telling you all about it soon enough.:D

By the way...thanks, Houston...I took that as a compliment.:)

 Dayuuum! My Shrewbahruu only averaged 23.5 on the nationals weekend! Must have been the extra weight of all that mud. :p Then again my Scout only gets 12 mpg at 75 mph, so I guess you win. :D In the next episode.... To the dragstrip! ;)

Bring it! I took the Firehawk to Norwalk, Ohio last year. Drove it up, drag raced it, drove it home. Averaged 29 mpg, and did about 75 or so ;) all the way out and back. The only way I'll let you top me, Firepooper, is drag racing in the snow...then you can have the honors...I don't think anything I have can hang. Otherwise, you're mine.:D :p

Houston, that Scout was pampered extra for Nationals. It got at least 5 coats of wax at the show. Of course, I haven't even driven it since then. It's sitting under the folks' carport covered in dust right now. But the cat likes it, he thinks the hood is a bed. I really need to move it before sumthin bad happens.:(

    Ammeter excuse...

Note above decription of stereo system...

1700 watt stereo + stock 38 amp alternator = high ammeter readings.

You should see it at night with the headlights and the stereo on. It pegs it constantly! I think I need an alternator upgrade...just a little...

Alternator upgrade and prolly the main power wires too, I'd say. I just don't see the stock 10ga. wire (if it's still in use) holding up to that much high-draw activity for long. :)

I know, Wayne...the gauge is broken. It went bad right before Nationals. I thought about putting a 33 gall tank in Blackie, but most of my driving is in town, where I get better mileage...about 28 mpg.

28mpg x 33 gal = 924 miles per tank. That basically means my diesel would go stale before I burnt it all! I'm building a Wayne-O-wanna-be...a 304, automatic half cab Scout, as we speak. I'll put the 33 gal tank in it.

    KOOL!!

    Hey Mike,

Is it the sender or the gauge itself? With the tank I have with the steel plate, It's not going to be any fun dropping it when I have to.
A Wayne Rig wanna be...Sounds good to me.. Are you going to fab a rack over the bed? Mine comes in real handy.

Peace, and have a good weekend!

I haven't checked it to see rather the gauge or the sender is the culprit, yet.

Nope. No Jungle Jim in the back of mine. I don't want everybody getting us mixed up, you know.;) :p
