Johnnie, Scott, Ty & Nicole, Mike, and myself met for some eatin' and talkin' over the weekend. We decided to try to get an informal get-together going at The Barn in Bridgewater this spring. Thought it doesn't look much like spring today, we need to get a date solidified and get the ball rolling, here. Figured for this round, we can basically just have a hangout, potluck style get together...and if some wrench-turning happens, so be it...if a trail ride happens, so be it. Nothing formal, just let it happen. I believe we decided that part of the club funds that still reside in my gun safe ($290, BTW) will be used for the burgers and buns, and attendees should bring a side or dessert.

    The good-
Nice, dry, woodstove heat (if we need it), well-lit, concrete floor, plenty of room to hang out, stocked with tools (pockets will be checked on the way out), close to parts stores and Scoutco.

    The bad-
No sleeping on site (camping and hotels are within 10-15 minutes, though), no alcohol (past issues cannot happen again), no restroom on site (females and sit-down jobs can be shuttled to my house 1/8 mile away in case of an emergency, though...not a big deal)

The date is up in the air. I'm looking hard at the 4/26-27 weekend. Should be doable from my end, I think.

Thoughts about any or all of this?

I plan to extend an invite to the SEBA neighbors to our south, as well as the dern yankees from TD4W.

All that sounds pretty good 'cept the date cuz I gotta work. But as we discussed before--y'all go play and have fun that weekend and I'll catch you on the next one. :wrenching:

I think I'm in the same boat as Ty. I have a photo gig that weekend and I'm not likely to get away. But I'd love for this to be something that happens kinda regularly and I'll jump on the next one.

Well...would dropping back a weekend work? Two puts us on Mother's Day weekend, which I think we should avoid...but one weekend wouldn't get in my way, I don't think. Thoughts?

What's wrong with Mother's Day Weekend? Well besides the obvious interruption of the carp run. Gotta shoot some fertilizer.

I am at the NRA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis April 22-28. Preceding weekend is doable for me. Would like to get to one of these get togethers.

5/3-5/4 is on my calendar. Right now we are dealing with Charlotte this week, and Jennifer's stepdad is over at UVA for back surgery today...after he went numb from the waist down night before last, they went ahead and moved the schedule from May to today:cornfused: Once that is all behind us next week, I will post up a more solid plan here. thanks for the kick in the pants!

Sorry to hear about Jennifer's stepdad. We will be lifting him up in our prayers. Hope you have a good time this weekend. If the Iron Lords spring party is anything like the fall one you should enjoy yourself.

Looks like I will be there most all day Sat as the wife has to conduct staff training that day so I am left to my own devices. (Never really a good thing when it comes to trucks as they multiply then.)

Mike if you want, I will bring my smaller smoker over and work on a pork shoulder or something all day for the dinner.
