Just bought a Scout, International Truck, Travelall, or possibly a Tractor?

Well, this thread is for you. Before you post a question, please review some things before proceeding to click that little "new thread" button.

If you don't have a set of service manuals for your Scout or other IH truck, it's okay, a lot of folks will tell you to buy a set, and I will too, but in the beginning, Searching the forums here will help you a lot before you dump the dollars for a set of manuals.

But, when the time comes, you are gonna want a set, and you should go to www.binderbooks.com to order them when you do.

Don't get us wrong, we like to answer posts, but a lot of this information is already here, and a lot of folks have put forth a lot of effort to get it at your fingertips without the dreaded "SEARCH!" post being brought up, and we know a lot of sites do that, but we try not to here unless absolutely necessary.

We agree that the search function provided by Jelsoft (the makers of the vbulletin software) isn't the greatest. There are options however that you can use to help in this area. Click here for how to use Google to search Binder Planet.

But, in the end, if you just don't know, and you just can't find it... "New thread" is the button you should click.

If you did search, and you found a thread that you THINK is the answer to your question, but you aren't sure just click "Post Reply" to that thread, and ask your question.

We will be more than happy to help.

The web site is here to help the IH nut, regardless of what sort of IH he or she has. All we ask is that you do a bit of the homework yourself first if you can.

Some other helpful threads here are:

    The Useful part numbers list

    IHC Truck Distributor ID

    Carburetor ID pics here,

    Exploded views here,

Questions about the right oil for your truck?

Thank you for taking the time to read this thread, we hope it helps you on your way.

    Keep on Binderin',

    John :)
