I'm having a real tough time with my 76 scout 304!
    It's been built!
    Everything tore down and rebuild/replaced.
    Dui/hei dist. Live wires
    Eldabrock 600cmf
    Aftermarket aluminum intake
    Mild cam
    All internals redone
    Longtube headers
    Dual Flowmaster 60s

And the scout is still gutless.
    Feels like 100hp or less.
Got a gear reduction. Running 35s.
It hardly spins the tires in the mud.
    Hates a climb
And falls on its face in the sand.
I'm about ready to sell it.
Looking for a knowledgeable reputable Mechanic to get me fixed up.
I don't know any that want to or know anything about it. I'm not trying to trial and error different shops and mechanics!

Don't have a suggestion for you right off, I do my own work usually. I will say your best bet is to come to our next meeting which will be April 8th in Del City. Bring your Scout, there's tons of IH knowledge there. You can roll it in the shop and let us have a look. https://www.facebook.com/Southwest-IH-Scouts-390084104481124/

    That sounds great!
I'd like to meet a group closer to home!
Right now I have the DUI distributor.
Can't even turn the thing bc the water neck and hose are right up against it.
Sure would suck to get rid of it to go with msd box!
I've been reading about a off set water neck.
Any one know about this or what it came off of?

Those necks were not really year specific. Here is a thread that explains it:

Chances are someone here local could source one from our backyard stashes. Unfortunately the majority of the folks there don't frequent BP for some reason. You could post on the Facebook page or come by the next meeting and probably get a result.
