Well, thats a bummer for me. Already filled out the vacation schedule at work. Took the same week in sept as always. Might not be able to make this one... been to everyone, but the first.

Haven't turned in vacation yet, so no problem on that account. I can see good and bad in it though, the pro's are that more people might be able to make it (with their kids) since it's during the 'summer vacation' window of most school systems. That's a big plus, we need more kids at the shows or we won't have shows much longer, most of us are getting older and the next generation is either going to get involved in our hobby or it will go the way of the do do bird.

Con's are that August is HOT, with all capitals. My wife will be all for it, she can work on her tan, me, not so much....but we'll make it work. Hopefully we can get things 'regulated' so people like Nick that have to put in for vacation early will know in advance what week it will be every year, the 'weekend after Labor Day' thing always made it easy.

Waiting to see on vending too, I'm sure glad John posted this now so I didn't pay Cars and Parts next month when they'll be sending the invoice for my spots.....:hammer:

But, she is still into IH so it can't be that bad.

P.S, hope there is a Hampton Inn real close?

    John,
Any particular reason why the change of venue? Just being nosy...

Scott, yes the heat in '07 on the pavement was pretty brutal!

That was exactly what I had in mind when I mentioned the heat :( Jeff Eggemeyer had his big bus conversion there that year (RIP for the bus, it died on the way home) and with the RV air conditioner it was a nice 'cooling station'.

I hate it for the Springfield Hampton Inn....But maybe they can put in a good word for us for the Troy Hampton Inn.

And maybe the can do the same deal for us. If they have room?

But we will make the most of it and make new memories!

Looks like it will be right on our way going to Red Power.....So we plan to take a peek.

No,the way I understand it the reason for this move is to break away from the car show.

Better venue, and it will be a Nats event, not anyone elses event.

Well I didn't get a single week of vacation I asked for this year so no issue there. Haha
And it is no longer on the wife and daughter birthday weekend. Yeah.
But it is now on the west coast camping trip we do every year with the entire family. Doh.
I just can't win. Oh well. I'm sure you guys will have fun.

I finally made it in 2012 (after a long absence) with my Dad and my 8 year old daughter. My wife was willing to let me take her out of school for Friday, as we left on a Thursday evening. She would let me do it again so long as her grades are good. How many more years will I have the opportunity to do something fun like this with my Father AND my daughter? I will do my best to make it again in 2013. I appreciate this event so much!

My 2 cents-----it is a 1000 mile plus round trip----plus $500 in expenses to go to the nats----with out the cars and parts flea market and the saturday night barbque----I won' be going this year.
